Join us as we continue building something special!

Are you ready to let your voice soar?  Look no further!  Following a very successful first season, Lift Community Choir is calling all experienced vocalists, shower singers, pub choir enthusiasts and car crooners to come together and be a part of this extraordinary experience.

After successful concerts in December, 2023 and May, 2024, Lift continues to grow!  This fall, we’ll be doing two public performances and singing for the residents at the Kings Way Care Centre.  We’re thrilled to be bringing our programs to a larger audience!

We believe that singing is for everyone, regardless of experience or formal training.  Whether you’ve been honing your vocal skills for years or have only dared to sing in the privacy of your shower, we welcome you with open arms.

There are no intimidating auditions to join this fully inclusive, mixed voice adult choir – all you need is a willingness to learn and a passion for the power of song.  Under the leadership of our experienced artistic director, our rehearsals will be filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the sheer thrill of creating beautiful music together.

Of course, all that rehearsing leads to shows, and your friends, families and co-workers will be inspired by our holiday and spring concerts filled with uplifting music, lots of humour and an opportunity to benefit the community through shared concert proceeds.

Join us on this exciting musical journey and experience the transformative power of singing in a supportive, fun environment. Unleash your inner songbird, connect with fellow music lovers, build community and forge new friendships.

Meet our Artistic Director

David Caird is a lifelong choral singer whose experiences with the Toronto Mendelssohn and Vancouver Bach choirs and a number of community groups prepared him for his first role as artistic director for the Joyful Voice Community Choir in Vancouver, a post that spanned 13 years.

While living on the Saanich Peninsula near Victoria, BC, David performed with the Peninsula Singers and the Peninsula Players, including as chorus member/lead in the Peninsula Players production of Mamma Mia!, and music director for Christmas pantos Grinched! and Puss in Boots.

Since making his home in Saint John, David has performed in the Saint John Chorale’s Christmas and Spring concerts and the Symphony Chorus’s Messiah.  He was thrilled to return to the role of Artistic Director with Lift Community Choir and is looking forward to another successful and rewarding season.
